Climate change
Preserving resources for future generations.
We recognise the importance of safe waste management in ensuring the health and safety of both people and the environment.
Reduce – We work in collaboration with North London Waste Authority (NLWA) to promote waste reduction and educate the community about making more sustainable choices.
Reuse – At our Reuse and Recycling Centres, we make every effort to extend the lifespan of the goods we collect, by giving them a second life. If an item is still in good condition, our team will transfer it to our ReUse Shop, where it can find a new home and continue to be useful to someone else.
Recycle – We manage six Reuse and Recycling Centres in north London, and all of our recycling partners, including our mattress and polystyrene recycling partners, are based in the United Kingdom.
Treating waste in an environmentally friendly way
At LondonEnergy, our primary goal is to manage local waste in the most appropriate, safe, and environmentally friendly way possible. We take pride in the fact that we divert around 698,000 tonnes of waste from landfill each year.
To date, half of the waste generated in North London is still not recyclable. However, we remain committed to managing all waste responsibly and work hard to move waste up the waste hierarchy whenever possible.
Low carbon energy rather than landfill
Energy from waste is the lowest carbon option for managing residual waste, avoiding 200 Kg of CO₂ for every tonne of waste diverted away from damaging landfill. It is also fundamental in preventing waste from becoming a health hazard and from polluting our water system.
Management Systems Certified
LondonEnergy is an Integrated Management System (IMS) certified company.
We hold three ISO certifications: ISO9001 Quality Management System, ISO14001 Environmental Management System and ISO45001 Health & Safety Management System.
Our IMS certification is a clear testament to our dedication to this goal. By investing in an IMS certification, we can maintain high standards of quality, environmental sustainability, and health and safety.
